How do you become a successful AMSOIL dealer? Well, I can tell you that it is not a simple process! It isn't particularly hard, either. What it is is work. Too many times, I hear stories about people signing up to be a dealer with the thought that this is a get rich scheme. It isn't. What AMSOIL offers is a solid product offering, outstanding corporate support and a real opportunity to start your own business. But, just like everything that is worthwhile, it takes a lot of time, perseverance, commitment and a little luck here and there. There are definitely some skill sets that can come in handy, too. Do you have sales experience? That is very helpful as cold calling on new accounts is an important skill. Are you mechanically inclined? That helps, although there are many who do not know much about cars that are successful. Are you an "A" type personality? Certainly helpful if you are. I'm not so much, but have been able to work around it. Are you a web developer? That could help find business on line.
One of the very most important things you can do if you are wanting to start your own AMSOIL business is find a sponsor to sign up under that can and will help you!! You can do it without help, but it is a lot of work. I am doing it, but I think I would be further along with a sponsor that was present. I signed up before I knew much about the structure and was assigned to a sponsor by AMSOIL. I have never spoken with my sponsor. I have never met my sponsor. That's not really how it is supposed to work. You should select your sponsor, not just take what is assigned! I'd even interview several existing AMSOIL dealers and pick one that fits. Pick one that you will enjoy working with. Pick one that you are confident will help you in your business. By the way, I'd love to be your sponsor!! Let's talk!!
Can you make a good living as an AMSOIL independent dealer? You bet you can! Is it easy and does not require much time? Nope. Sorry, this isn't a magic, get rich quick and easy thing. It is a career. Sure, you can do it part time. You can take weeks away from it at a time. But, don't expect much growth while you are away. Can you make a living doing this? Absolutely! Plus, if you get a solid business built, you can take time off and continue to get paid. You can take a lot of time off and still get paid, it just takes the effort to get a strong business built!
If you want to get started, I would love to sponsor you. I will invest everything I can in you to help you be successful. So long as you are willing to put a solid effort into it.
Tips for being a Successful AMSOIL Dealer:
- Find a Sponsor who will help you be successful!

- Keep a Positive attitude!
- An AMSOIL business is just that, a business. You will experience failure. You have to remain positive and persevere.

- Work Hard!
- As stated above, there is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme. Anyone who claims that there is, is full of it. This is a business and requires hard work and dedication. The more you work at it, the more success you will have. I have read on another dealers webpage (former dealer) a lot of the same information that I am giving you, but that dealer goes on to tell "the dark side" of AMSOIL. If you have found the writings on that page, I can tell you that something doesn't add up. The only thing I can figure is that he gave up. I too have experienced some of what he stated about accounts being transferred from one sponsor to another. But, I have been on both sides of that equation and I can tell you that if you are persistent and professional with the corporate staff at AMSOIL, they absolutely will do the right thing. I have not lost an account that should not have been transferred. Any objections from anyone are fully vetted and correctly resolved as long as you are persistent and professional. The 2 P's as I like to call it.

- Communicate!
- I have learned through the years that communication is key! Often times that means picking up the phone and calling someone. Maybe en email is sufficient, but always communicate. If you feel there is a problem, call someone about it. If you need something to be done, call someone about it. Have a question? Call and ask! Not doing something and assuming is a sure recipe for dissatisfaction.
