I came across this website recently:  https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/  It is a very lengthy read, but once again here is an independent research piece into motor oils and what it takes to reduce engine wear.  AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 Signature Series Kicks ASS!!  Only 1 motor oil did better in the film strength testing.  That oil?  AMSOIL 0W-20 Signature Series!  These two oils outperformed the higher zinc content oils by a very large margin.  Think your oil has to have zinc in order to control wear?  Think again.  Think you have to have a heavier weight oil to control wear?  Think again!
