Ralph bought his 2008 Ford F-350 in June of 2007 and has taken meticulous care of it ever since, always keeping an eye open for a better way of providing protection and performance.  After much research, Ralph decided that Amsoil would provide those advantages. 

Ralph consulted with the internet, Dan Goldman at CPS Auto and Marine and myself to learn  all he could about the benefits of using Amsoil and decided on the full Amsoil fluid package, including the Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter kit.  All lubricants were replaced with Amsoil products including the engine, transmission, differentials and coolant. 

Ralph tows a 2014 Excel 40' 5th wheel with this truck.  Weighing in at roughly 17,000 pounds, this trailer needs the power and stability that this truck offers.  This truck needs the protection and performance that Amsoil offers.  Amsoil's synthetic diesel oils provide superior shear strength while controlling oxidation resulting from high heat.  It is oxidation that leads to sludge formation.  

Starting with a superior motor oil, Ralph's truck gets even more protection from Amsoil with the bypass oil filter kit.  Used in addition to the factory specified oil filter cartridge, which has also been upgraded to an Amsoil EA15K88 cartridge, the bypass oil filter kit uses a billet aluminum oil filter cap to divert a small portion of the pressurized oil flow and super cleans it, then returns the cleaned oil back to the engine through a billet aluminum oil fill cap.  This setup removes 98% of particulate matter in the oil that is larger than 2 microns.  The EA15K88 oil filter cartridge filter will remove 98% of particles down to 20 microns, which is quite a bit better than a typical paper media cartridge, but there is still quite a bit of "junk" left in the oil.  You simply cannot filter particles smaller than that while maintaining full oil flow to the engine.  That is where the Bypass Filter comes in.  It is able to filter down to 2 microns by being a relatively low flow filter.  Typically, the full volume of the trucks oil is filtered by the bypass filter every 30 to 40 minutes.  And, speaking of oil volume, the oil volume is also increased by a little over 2 quarts due to the bypass filter.  This increase in volume also has the benefit of better cooling and an increased ability of the oil to last longer.

CPS Auto and Marine recently installed an Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter kit on this 2013 Chevy 2500HD Duramax. 

Conor Davis brought his 2013 Chevy HD to Dan and the guys to have the Bypass Oil Filter Kit installed in order to provide the absolute best protection he could to his Duramax.  The Amsoil Bypass Filter kit brings the piece of mind of knowing that the oil is truly being filtered.  While the normal, full flow oil filter provides filtration of particles larger than 20 microns, the Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter effectively removes particles all the way down to 2 microns.  The particles between 2 and 20 microns are typically left behind by the factory spec oil filters.  With particles larger than 4 microns responsible for causing engine wear, this threat is virtually eliminated. 

Conor also went with the full Amsoil treatment for his truck.  In addition to using Amsoil 15W-40 CJ-4 approved Synthetic Diesel Oil, he changed the transmission fluid to Amsoil Torque Drive transmission fluid, Amsoil Severe Gear gear oil for both differentials including Amsoil Slip Lock Additive,  Amsoil Chassis Grease and Amsoil 5th Wheel Grease.

Additionally, by installing the Bypass Filter Kit, Conor has increased the total oil capacity of his Duramax from 10 to 15 quarts!  This additional 5 quarts provides better cooling and a larger quantity of oil to absorb the affects of heavy duty use.

When Dan Phillips of Carlisle, Iowa bought his 2013 Ford Super Duty, he knew that he wanted to make it last as long as possible.  A key to that longevity is found in providing the best possible lubrication for the engine.  Of course Dan made the decision to use Amsoil's Premium API CJ-4 motor oil that provides superior protection in today's Ultra Low emission diesel engines, but Dan decided to take it a step further.  Dan had CPS Auto and Marine in Grimes, Iowa install an Amsoil BMK28 Bypass Filter Kit.  By using one of these bypass filters, engine wear caused by particles in the oil is virtually eliminated.  A standard spin on oil filter typically leaves particles smaller than 20 microns in the oil.  Particles larger than 4 microns will cause engine wear.  An Amsoil bypass filter is 98.7% efficient at removing particles that are 2 microns or larger, leaving analytically clean oil behind.  To see more information on the bypass filters, click here.
