Dan Goldman and his crew at CPS Automotive and Marine in Grimes, Iowa recently installed an Amsoil bypass oil filter on a customers 2001 Ford F-650 truck equipped with a Cummins 5.9 Diesel. The install was done in about an hour. As you can see in the photos, supply oil to the filter is bled off of an existing high pressure port located on the top of the factory spin on filter location. Oil is delivered to the Amsoil bypass filter where the EaBP-100 filter removes particles 2 micron and larger. This cleaned oil is then delivered to the drivers side of the engine, where it is returned to the engine via a billet aluminum filler cap with a return line fitting. All parts used in this installation were supplied by Amsoil. To finish off the installation, the oil was changed to Amsoil's synthetic diesel oil. The EaBP-100 filter is an extremely efficient/low flow filter, with an absolute efficiency of 98.7% at 2 microns. This exceptional performance removes virtually all of the wear causing particles from the oil supply. The EaBP-100 filter has a service life of 70,000 miles or 800 hours of operation or 2 years. This filter also adds 1.5 quarts of oil capacity to the system. Read more about Amsoil's Bypass Filters here. Amsoil has bypass filter kits for nearly every engine.
